1/7 Tear Grants Milestone Figure Pic Spam

I saw some photos of her (as opposed to the prototype) and I was worried she was going to be fugly, but she actually turned out quite nice. My biggest complaint is that...if you look at her from views other than front/back and 3/4...her clothes totally make her look fat. But she is nice. Maybe not 7800 yen nice, but nice. Also the box was way plain.

You know what I think a neat figure would be, though? Luke at the end with the Key of Lorelei pressed down into the ground. The base could be Eldrant-style tiles and he could have his jacket tails flying out behind him. It'd be awesome. Also suddenly -- final form Van would look way cool with that pattern on his arm and the feathers. And Asch...maybe doing that sword-close-to-face pose from the OP sequence, or kinda like when he's casting artes... Yeah. Forget it. Onward!

Front view. Yes, her hair's a little darker than in the stock photos.


3/4. Bangs in face? Check. Melons? Double check. This figure is very fanservice-y... like her costume was trimmed extra up under her arms. So more cleavage shows... The plus side of this is you can kind of tell how her costume goes together (the leotard-thing underneath). Also some nice details with creases/wrinkles/folds in the material.


See? She totally gained 50 lbs right there.


The base. Her staff is also really nice.

Behind her? All ToA doujinshi and the TOA Perfect Guide. :| Also some artbooks (Gundam Wing, Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, Disney), TMM production material, and my lone pair of TMM doujinshi, and then you can see Mew Zakuro and Cure White to one side, and Japanese-related books, PSP/games and a few Japanese CDs (that's the 'ToA Last Episode' showing). I'll take some shots of my room after I...dust.

I actually liked the way she looked when they first revealed her? But then I saw some blurry photos and I was like "oh noes". She actually does look very nice close up, though. I'm glad they at least put something on her base, too. And yeaaah ADDITIONS. Lol.

Now that Alter's making that Yuri figure (and a Flynn, too, I think?) they really have no excuse. Also I still want an Asch. And God-General trading figures. It'd be epic. :/

Oh I just noticed the design on the base, heh. You're right, that does look better than a blank one. XD

And yeah, Yuri and Flynn are basically the first guys in the series to get a 1/8 scale figure, so that gives me some hope. ^^ Still though...I think they're pretty much done with Tales of the Abyss in terms of releasing merchandise and stuff for it, sadly...well, besides this new Tear figure obviously. I don't know though...I mean I feel like we won't have a chance to get anything else TotA related unless they do something else for the game (like make a port or remake). Not sure though. D:

That's a gorgeous figurine. I need to find some nice ones for myself...but alas, I have no cahs. And no idea where to find the TMM figurines that you have. (The Special Pretty Mew Ichigo is on eBay, but WAY too expensive. D:)

Yeah, the nice ones tend to be expensive, but if you ever go seriously looking for a figurine, I might be able to give you some advice? IDK.

Oh? Which ones? I actually need to go through all my TMM stuff and start thinning down. There are a few things I'm definitely keeping, but I plan on eventually selling a lot of it, because it's kinda just sitting there. :X

Hmm, lemme think.

There was the super special ~*pretty*~ Mew Ichigo perfect figure.

The two promo figures from the PS Game (Ichigo and Mint).

The set of five... they were manufactured by Sega, I think - They're smaller than 1/8 scale, but bigger than trading figures, Zakuro's visible above.

The little set of five figurines on fruits.

There was a set of five with snack foods... kinda like the anime ending... there used to be a wallpaper of them on Strawberry Parfait (was that the site's name? It was run by Pikari) - never seen these anywhere EVER. I'd love to see them in person. XD

The trading figures - another set of five, small, they looked really REALLY cheap. e-e;

And if you want to go into not-quite figures, there were two sets of super-deformed finger puppets (one all mews + Kisshu, Ryou, Keiichiro, and Masaya; one with the girls in cafe and school uniforms and another version of Mew Ichigo).

Some super-deformed figure-things that came with bubble bath. O.o; Kinda pearlescent and not free-standing.

Pencil toppers... super-deformed all five Mews.

And then like, the cellphone straps (Cafe styles) and the keychains (Mews)...

And the Italian figures. I think there were Mew and Cafe sets, and some itty bitty figures and playsets which included the boys. There might have been aliens too, I don't remember. Not sure how well any of these stand up.

That's all I can think of. :X
