New Pet Peeve.
May. 13th, 2008 11:49 amWhy the heck is icon-making such a vicious competition on the internet? There were a couple of girls acting like elitists and totally bashing someone else on my forums because her stuff "wasn't good/wasn't getting better fast enough". I mean, good grief. That's like telling an artist "your art's not improving fast enough, so it's bad". Everyone learns and improves at different rates, people. Half of art/graphics is about personal learning, not about what other people think of it. And even if someone isn't skilled at something that they enjoy doing, why the heck should they be stopped? There is no law that bad artists can't draw. There is no law that people who aren't awesome with graphics can't make graphics. Besides, these are avatars. Anyone can essentially make an avatar if they have the right picture/font/brushes and know how to arrange them, so why are you treating it like you're some expert who gets paid to make them when I'm pretty sure you don't even have ANY job? It's pretty obvious most people online make avatars for fun or for their own use. So quit throwing your imaginary weight around because it makes you look like a couple of dogs. D= Seriously, girls, please leave people alone and get a life. You'll feel better if you do.
